Changes to the Law on securities widen the meaning of «securities» and «market», thus allowing the Commission to permit trade in a wider range of tools and licensing of commercial and other exchanges. Changes to the Law on Insurance abrogate some of the administrative obligations of branches of foreign insurance companies operating in Mauritius, and allow greater flexibility in exceptional circumstances.

The Commission on Financial Services on the Island of Jersey (British offshore territory in the English Channel) has released a consultation paper on proposed changes of professional codes of four financial sectors: investment, up to receive deposits, insurance activities and trust companies. Of these, the greatest changes proposed in the Professional Code of investment, because it has not changed since 2001.
