The Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Jersey (British offshore jurisdiction) and the Financial Services Commission British Virgin Islands (Caribbean offshore jurisdictions) have signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation between the two regulatory bodies. The document establishes a formal framework for cooperation, including exchange of information and assistance in the investigations. Such cooperation will help protect investors and depositors, and will promote unity of the markets of financial services to Jersey and the British Virgin Islands. John Harris, director general of dzhersiyskogo CFU, said: «a lot of finance companies are present in both jurisdictions and this memorandum will provide a quick and efficient exchange of regulatory information, if necessary.»
